Our Philosophy Is That Chemical Dependence Is Treatable.
Our philosophy is built upon the belief that chemical dependence, if left untreated, is a chronic, progressive and fatal illness. The problem is pervasive and affects not only the identified dependent individual, but also those who are in any type of intimate relationship with them. Those affected are family members, spouses, friends, employers, and coworkers. Chemical dependence places an enormous strain on the family system and places all members in jeopardy.
It is further believed that not only the chemically dependent individual is in need of treatment, but whenever possible, the entire family system is also in need of treatment. It is further understood that alcohol and drug problems occur on a continuum—ranging from what can be identified as a problem to chronic dependence.
With that understanding, our philosophy is to provide individualized services to meet each client’s specific needs.
To answer the challenge of alcoholism and other dependencies, we engage in education and treatment. A variety of treatment methods are utilized and employed following the process of differential diagnosis for each individual and family.
